Please remember that I am not only the founder of the Derry Counseling Services in Derry, New Hampshire, I am also a member of the staff.

  • May 1988 - PresentDerry Counseling Service, Inc. - Derry, NHClinical Director and CO-Owner of Derry Counseling ServicesIn addition to clinical director, Paul has a caseload of 23 counseling clients.
  • June 1983 - May 1988Derry Counseling Service - Derry, NHFamily CounselorUnder the direct supervision of Jesus Morea, Ph.D., Paul's professional work involved marriage, individual and family counseling. In addition, he completed many psychological evaluations under Dr. Morea's supervision.
  • April 1979 - June 1985Regional Special Education Consortium - Milford, NHAssociate PsychologistInvolved full-time consulting with 23 schools in catchments area around Milford. This work involved psychological evaluations, clinical supervision of the teacher of a regional class of emotionally disturbed elementary age children, and psychotherapy of the majority of the children of this class. Various methods of psychotherapy were used: Individual, family and group (parent) psychotherapy. Clinical consultant to two elementary school pupil personnel teams established to deal with the remediation of the difficulties of educationally handicapped children. This clinical work was under the supervision of William Lothrop, Ph.D.
  • January 1979 - April 1979New Hampshire State HospitalNeuropsychologist in TrainingTraining involving procedures of Emg and Thermal Biofeedback and Neuropsychological Evaluations under the direct supervision of Senior Psychologist Raymond Spern. These evaluations were for the purpose of determining the probability of brain damage, location of this damage and suggestions for rehabilitation when damage was likely. Left after three months due to threat of a budget cut in state funding for that section of the hospital.
  • November 1976 - December 1978New Hampshire State HospitalPsychologist II at the Adolescent UnitClinical coordinator for all therapy and social work for these adolescents. Also, performed diagnostic evaluations for all children entering the Adolescent Unit. This was shared with one other psychologist.
  • December 1975 - December 1976Derry Counseling Service - Derry, NHFamily CounselorFull time private family counselor under the supervision of Roger La Mora, Ed.D. Certified Psychologist. Executive Director of Derry Counseling Service. Our agency was approved December 24, 1975 to do Home Ownership Counseling by and for the Manchester area HUD office.
  • December 1974 - December 1975Youth Development Center - Manchester, NHPsychologist IThis position was designed to help the youthful offender in his rehabilitation, particularly those minors that seemed inappropriate for commitment to Y.D.C.. Paul Consulted with various courts, schools, group homes etc. for this purpose.
  • January 1970 - December 1974New York State Drug Abuse Control CommissionPsychologist - Master's LevelPaul was involved in both administrative and clinical work (group and individual psychotherapy) with drug abusers that had been committed to the residential drug rehabilitation centers (both in Manhattan and later in Yonkers, NY). During this time, two certified psychologists supervised him. In this position, Paul supervised paraprofessionals working with this residential population.
  • June 1966 - January 1967Episcopal Center for Children - Washington, DCCounselorWorked full-time as a counselor for the residential treatment center for emotionally disturbed children. Paul had a caseload of four children that he worked with doing recreational therapy under the supervision of a psychiatric social worker.
